Nylon Slings by HSI Nylon slings are a strong, lightweight, and very flexible rigging solution trusted by industries throughout the world. Our American-made nylon slings are treated for abrasion resistance, and can be worked in temperatures up to 180° F. With high resistance to alkaline environments, nylon lifting slings are ideal for many applications, but should never be used in acid conditions. Type 1 Triangle / Choker Type 1 Triangle slings have a triangle fitting on one end and a choker fitting on the other end - can also be used in basket and vertical hitches. Type 2 Triangle / Triangle Type 2 Triangle Triangle Slings have a triangle fitting on each end. Type 2 slings are more economical than Type 1. They are normally used in a basket hitch, can be used in a vertical hitch but they cannot be used in a choker hitch. Type 3 Eye and Eye Type 3 Eye and Eye slings have eyes at both ends - choice of straight or tapered eyes (tapered eyes are standard ≥ 2" web-width). Flat Eye slings are very popular slings which can be used in basket, vertical, and choker hitches. They are easy to remove from beneath the load after the load is in place. Unless Type 4 is requested, Type 3 will be supplied as the standard EE sling. Type 4 Twisted Eye Type 4 Twisted Eye slings are similar to Type 3 except the eyes are turned 90° to form a better choker hitch. This type of eye also nests together better when used in a basket hitch. Type 5 Endless Type 5 Endless slings are very economical. They can be used in all three types of hitches and wear points can be moved to increase sling life. The sling legs can be spread for improved load balance. Type 6 Reversed Eye Type 6 Reversed Eye slings have protective Cordura webbing over the entire body and eyes. This extra webbing reinforces the sling and protects it from wear, resulting in an exceptionally resilient sling. Type 8 Attached Eye Wide-lift Type 8 Attached Eye Wide-lift slings are ideal for lifts that require wider bearing areas and some balance attributes. Eyes are made from separate material – WLA1 is 1-ply, WLA2 is 2-ply – both sewn to the sling body. Body is single ply for both 1 and 2-ply eyes. Type 9 Continuous Eye Wide-lift Type 9 Continuous Eye Wide-lift slings are constructed from one endless sling with the two body lengths butted and joined side-by-side. Stiffener webbing is used at the base of the eyes to deter the body webbing from folding down the middle. Our Rigging Slings Family Chain Slings Chain slings are used primarily for overhead lifting in conjunction with a crane or lifting device. Chain lifting slings provide excellent performance in harsh environments. Manufactured in house by HSI from special alloy steel and engineered for a superior combination of strength and durability, chain slings provide excellent flexibility and resistance to high temperatures. Wire Rope Slings Wire rope slings, designed for strength, flexibility, and abrasion resistance, are an ideal choice for heavy lifting and rigging jobs. With resistance to heat, water, sunlight, and chemicals, wire rope slings are used by construction, mining, marine, and energy industries around the world. Polyester Slings Polyester round slings offer a highly versatile solution for heavy lifting applications. This continuous loop of polyester fibers delivers exceptional strength and flexibility with minimal stretching. Manufactured for abrasion resistance and is color coded by weight capacity for easy identification of slings. TWISTED EYE Type 4 web slings, also known as Twisted Eye, are similar the Flat Eye slings except the eyes are twisted to a right angle of the sling body. This construct helps make it more effective when used as choker hitch. When used as a basket hitch, it also nests together better than the Type 3 version
LIGHTWEIGHT & STRONG MATERIAL Made from lifting nylon, these slings are easy to move and store while being adaptable to a variety of uses. Although highly resistant to alkalies, they should not be used in acidic conditions.
DOUBLE TAGGED FOR SAFETY Two tags are used on HSI slings to identify WLL (Working Load Limits). Riggers can reference critical information for safe sling application and OSHA compliance.
SHOCK ABSORPTION The stretching of web slings allows a cushion against sudden shock. When loaded at rated capacity, a nylon sling will typically stretch 6-8%. Slings return to normal length when not loaded.
